What I wish someone told me sooner about being a high achiever (Part 1)

Until recent years, I would never have called myself a high achiever, regardless of my level of success.

I grew up going to a really tough private school full of high achievers and really smart kids and teachers. And although I had good grades, I honestly just didn’t really resonate with achievement, performance, or winning awards.

Yes, I wanted to go to a good college and have a great career.

But my creative, type B, moderately rebellious teenager self (who, let’s be honest is still alive and well today in my 40’s! 🤣) really just didn’t care much about getting into an ivy league school, or proving myself on standardized tests, or trying to be the best at something.

It just kinda seemed like any time I succeeded in something in school, it just came with a “reward” of more pressure, more work, or a more advanced class to take.

Ummmm…no thanks!

But with 7 years of entrepreneurship now under my belt, and the deep personal journey I’ve gone through behind the scenes as I’ve stepped into a greater version of myself over these years, I realized in recent years that I was confusing high achievement with being an OVERachiever.

2 very different things.

And however you define or think about “achievement” or “success” for you as an entrepreneur, and whatever your goals are, stepping into a healthier, next-level view of yourself is exactly what will get you everything you want in business.

So, for this Think Differently, I’m talking all about high achievement and how to do it in a healthy way as a business owner.
