My best quarter ever: a behind-the-scenes look at the biggest lessons of 2024

As a little girl growing up in the 80s in the southeastern US, we were taught NOT to be outwardly proud of ourselves in public.

I was lucky enough to have a supportive household where we were encouraged to share our wins and accomplishments at home.

But at school? In public?

Um, no. That’s rude, bragging, and definitely not “nice”.

And girls HAD to be nice…don’t make any waves… 😡

(I often wonder if my rebellious edge and straight-shooter style was in direct response to that 👆or if I was just born this way - hmm prob both.)

So you can imagine how the 8-year old me is still shocked that I chose this job!

There are still days when she asks me WTF I was thinking 🤣

But seriously, that stuff is permeating our entire society and the fastest way to stop it is to change our behavior, even if it feels crunchy.

I still see this belief system holding back brilliant people of ALL genders from having thriving businesses that change the world. And I for one won’t stand for that.

SO… that’s just one of a million different reasons why I’ve been sharing more than once with you how great this year was for my business.

In case you missed it, here’s my year at a glance, of which I am proud AF:
🌴2nd best revenue year in business

🌴Biggest quarter in cash received ever

🌴I traveled around the US for 2.5 months while working about 75%

🌴Gave myself 6 weeks of vacation in total

🌴Every single client is a brilliant person doing great work in the world, and we created epic results together

Truth be told there are moments that’s still hard for me to do. But it’s something I choose do for myself and for my business, even when I don’t want to. And on the days I don’t want to, it makes it a lot easier to do it for YOU than for me.

Because if I’m sitting over here not owning my genius, how can I truly support you in owning yours?

So here’s your reminder to look at YOUR business and celebrate the crap out of what worked this year.

Better still – share that with your audience (if appropriate for your business/brand) and/or a colleague who truly understands what it takes to run your own business to celebrate with you.

Check out the replay below where I’ll be breaking down the exact strategy adjustments and team changes I made this year, how I experimented with my schedule, and the mindset shifts that served me best this year.

As usual, I’ll keep it real, so there’s also mistakes, lessons, and things that didn’t work that I share the deets on too.
